I'll be up at 8am trying to get 4 tickets for this gig, hopefully I'll get lucky. But just in case I'm not, I'll start the topic here.

Anyone know how much tickets are going to be as I can't find anything on the TM website.

As far as I know Beddis theyll be €76 odd plus booking fee! Good luck with the hunt...hoping to get in there myself!

Info is on ticketmaster now. Nothing about a presale. Important thing to note is they go on sale at 8am not 9am as is usual.

Personally I think this will take a few hours at least to sell out. With no presale, 80,000 tix, an 8am start and the fact that this is a week before Glastonbury probably keeping the amount of UK buyers down who Id have anticipated to make up a good percent of the buyers. Just speculation so dont blame me if Im wrong but I dont think its going to be another ac/dc scenario.

The Prodigy have just been added as very special guests of Oasis at Slane Castle on Saturday 20 June, 2009, subject to license.

Tickets for Slane 2009 are priced 76.50 including booking fee, limited to eight per person and will go on sale this Friday 24 October at 8.00am from Ticketmaster outlets nationwide.

Formed in 1990 The Prodigy have gone on to become the most successful electronic act of all time in terms of chart success and critical acclaim.

Emerging from the dance scene of the early 1990's The Prodigy quickly crossed achieved massive chart success with the release of their debut album'Experience' in 1992 followed up with the critically acclaimed 'Music For The Jilted Generation' in 1994, 1997's 'The Fat Of The Land' and 2004's 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned'. An as yet untitled album is due for release in March 2009.

It is in the live arena that The Prodigy excel and they have justifiably gained a reputation for providing an incendiary live concert experience due in no small measure to Maxim Keith Flint's on-stage antics. However it is producer Liam Howlett whose studio wizardry launched The Prodigy to the top of the charts, spinning a web of hard-hitting breakbeat techno with king-sized hooks and unmissable samples.

Mucky fields and pill munchers do not go hand in hand either really. Probably need a few more acts to pull a crowd. AC/DC should have been doing slane.

I'd say thats why MCD have booked The Prodigy. Oasis still have enough fans to draw a crowd but not enough to fill Slane. With The Prodigy on the bill, this gig will sell out in no time.

It's happened to me loads of times. Bought a ticket to a gig thats not for a few months, then I find out closer to the time that Ive got something else to go to so I can't go to the gig.

Thats actually one of the reasons for starting this site! Theres been a fair few times where I've found myself with a ticket to a gig and noone wanting it!

Reckon also a lot of people may find that they are no longer able to afford a gig like this that they may have bought back in happier times.
