email notifications

hi i do not think i am getting email notifications for each time a new post is made on a thread I am subscribed to - how can i change that?

Email notifications only get sent out once, you need to log back into the site and view the thread in question to receive another notification.

The system will email you when you receive a PM.

Go to Control Panel - Board Preferences - Edit Notifications Options - Someone sends you a PM - tick the email box

Hi I'm new to the website, but I understand that I should be getting e-mails whenever someone posts to a thread, once you have either bookmarked or subscribed to it.
I checked my setting and I made some changes and it still isn't working for me.

I went to "User Control Panel", then "Board Preferences" and finally "edit notification options".
Then there is 6 options with a tickbox for both notification and e-mail

Notification Email
>Your topics/posts are approved or disapproved by a moderator tick tick
>Someone replies to a topic you have bookmarked tick tick
>Someone replies to a topic to which you are subscribed tick tick
>Someone quotes you in a post tick
>Someone creates a topic in a forum to which you are subscribed tick tick
>Someone sends you a private message tick

And yes I have checked and rechecked the thread, and I have it both bookmarked and subscribed.

Is there any other reason why I might not be getting e-mails.

Hi,
We've sent you 11 emails since the 11th. If you havent got those 11 emails my guess is they are getting marked as spam. If you HAVE got those 11 emails and you'd have expected more let me know.

Yes that is true from the 11th of February I got 11 e-mails.
There is close to 40 posts on the thread in question.
However I was subscribed from early January there was about 20 e-mails I did not receive, which I should have.
I will be clear, I did get tickets in the end so I'm not mad, but I don't want to have an issue like this in the future.
I just want clarity to see why it worked fine from the 11th of February and not before.

The system doesn't send an email for every post. It sends you one per notification subscription until you login again. Basically one notification to say there's been a post on what you're watching since you have been on the site last. Otherwise we'd be sending 100s of mails to people.

If you want a feed of posts (every post that is sent to a topic) you need to use the RSS (Atom) feed. These used to be popular but isn't used by people so much anymore. At the moment its a bit manual to get a feed for a specific topic

Change your RSS reader to point to:

https://www.toutless.com/app.php/feed/topic/00000

Where the last number 00000 is replaced with the number of the topic you want to monitor (you can get it from the url when you open a topic). If you don't put this into an RSS reader it'll be raw html code in a browser and not much use. There are RSS apps for Android and Apple as well as extensions for all the browsers.

Hi Admin,
I have received tickets for a gig though your site and I am delighted.
But now I want to remove myself from that particular board, as everytime there is a post by another user, I get an email.
And I don't want to change all my email notifications, as I have active requests for other concerts.
How do I do this?

Also, is there a way of deleting my old request from the board?
I have updated it with 'tix got'.

In control panel there's an option to manage subscriptions. You should be able to unsubscribe from the topic there.
ucp.php?i=ucp_main&mode=subscribed

Posts can't entirely be removed, editing to say tix got is the correct approach.
