COVID-19: Using the site and Event Cancellation -- Events are back again.

Post by toast » Sun Nov 14, 2021 1:48 pm

January 2022 update: The Republic of Ireland has lifted all restrictions on public events at this time.

The pandemic is still not over and events may still be cancelled or postponed due to COVID-19.

Covid Safety
Our advice on using the site in the past was to meet people in person to trade tickets.  This still remains our recommend way of using the site over sending money/tickets digitally.  If you choose to do meet in person please ensure you are following HSE Guidelines on containing Covid 19.

Refunds
Toutless is not involved in issuing refunds.  This is something to be arranged between the buyer and seller.  The below is a guide for that purpose.

Normally refunds will be provided by the ticket company when an event is cancelled or are available on request when an event is rescheduled.  Some promoters / ticket companies will not refund booking fees if a refund is requested due to a reschedule.

  • Online Tickets
Refunds are sent back to the original purchaser without requiring the original tickets to be returned.  In this situation a seller on Toutless needs to refund anyone they sold the ticket on to.
  • Cash Tickets
Need the tickets to be sent back to the ticket company for a refund and can be done by the person who now holds the tickets rather than the person who originally bought them (contact the ticket company to verify their process for this).

Rescheduled events
]If you've bought a ticket from a seller and an event is rescheduled the seller might be able to arrange a refund with the ticket company if you ask them. This likely will result in the booking fee being forfeit.. in this situation the seller is only obliged to pass on the refund they received and the buyer will lose the difference.[/list]

This is our broad understanding of what the situation is in Ireland. Other countries might be different. Please always verify with the primary seller what their policy is.
