Please report rule violations and suspicious behaviour.

Post by toast » Thu Sep 23, 2010 10:27 am

Please help us keep the forum in good condition.

1. Report suspicious requests/activities.
We work hard to keep everyone as safe as we can but we need your help to find people who might be looking to scam or otherwise rip people off.

First off always read the advice on using Toutless safely before dealing with anyone. The short version is: "Meet people in person and verify the tickets and ID before handing over money reduce chances of being scammed."

Secondly watch for newly joined users asking for payment by bank transfers or other remote payment options for rare tickets. If you're at all unsure please let us know by mailing info@toutless.com or using the report post option (right side of a post). Please don't make accusations in the public forum.

2. Report sales and offers over face value.
We consider touting as charging more than it costs to buy a ticket from the official vendor. This means booking fees and credit card charges from the official vendor can be passed on. Additional fees paid to a middleman of any sort can not be passed on!

If someone attempts to charge more than face value for tickets on this site please send the details onto the mods or myself / gary or you can email us at info@toutless.com.

We will endeavor to keep reporters anonymous in our dealings with the alleged tout.

We also ask sellers to report if someone tries to offer you more money than face value as well. I know this may be difficult but we're trying to stop the idea that people can buy their way into sold out gigs as this is what causes touts to stockpile tickets for popular gigs (and probably causes them to sell out in the first place!) so in the long run you'll hopefully benefit from this.

When you are listing tickets state that you are looking for no more than the face value and state what that is in your listing. If you do not do this and someone claims you touted we will instantly assume you have and ban you without investigating it further. If there are different types of tickets for an event make clear which the ticket you are selling is. If you list a ticket for a cheaper section at the price of a higher section we'll consider this an attempt to tout.

If you want to tout or offer more than face value... DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE. There are several other high profile websites that allow you to do this. If people are here, they are here to deal at face value.

Please do not ignore the issue if someone asks for more for a ticket after you contacted them. It is wasting your time and others when someone does this and we will act as quickly as possible to remove them from the site.

READ Before purchasing - Current scam being run.

Post by toast » Tue May 12, 2015 10:13 am

All,
We've had reports which leads us to believe there is a serial scammer currently targeting users of this board.
The current trick for him to use is to agree to meet people to exchange tickets for money.
On meeting it turns out the tickets are e-tickets that are locked behind a password of some sort and he'll digitally send the tickets and the password to you on exchange of money. It later turns out that the password is false and there are no tickets.

He has operated under the names metab & hnyeh & sovereign87 with mild variations of the above scam.

Be very wary of arranging deals that match these criteria:
  • Involve users registered within the last month...
  • ...with few or no posts...
  • ...who PM you with offers of tickets out of the blue...
  • ...who have electronic tickets for sale...
  • ...who ask you to send him your phone number straight away to arrange a deal (which limits what we can see happening on the board)
Please be aware that this is not the only way someone might attempt to scam you. As always please read our advice on using toutless safely. While we still believe meeting people is the safest way of doing a transaction it is still necessary to request ID, confirm the tickets exist and come from the person who is selling them and record this information in order to be as safe as possible.

If you are at all suspicious of someone please email info@toutless.com with the details. Please DO NOT make accusations on the public forum as some legitimate people can appear suspicious when not in possession of all the facts.

While this may read as all doom and gloom the vast majority of users are legitimate but we need people to be aware of the dangers especially going into the summer months where the demand for tickets are the highest and it is easy to get caught out by the dishonest few.
